The Location was Manchester, England and it was cloudy pretty much
the whole time we where there and half the time we had to
walk to and from the venue in rain but, very typical for the
UK. Our mission was to erect the 2005 LG world Championship
course designed by some of the best action sport athletes
in the world. Here we were working with Hans Geiger from G-ramps.
He built a course for us that we used in the LG action sport
tour that we just got through with. It had 6 stops in various
countries through out the world. We shipped 2 containers of
additional equipment and gear from the United States, along
with a hand picked crew from America. It all arrived like
clock work form the USA. So, in total we had 2 containers
and 3 semi trucks of gear ready to install at the Mens Arena.
We had a total of 3 days to erect and install the street
course and vert ramp. We have a total of 12 guys working
on this project and we completed the mission without any
incident. It was now time for the Pros to come and kill
this beast we created
.
I was very impressed with the whole event. The attitude
of everyone was very positive and all of the athletes just
killed the course and vert ramp. The stands were packed
with about 16 thousand people for some contests, and I witnessed
some remarkable skating and riding over the 3 day event.
The energy was very high and I just sat in the crowd and
listened to the local Manchester fans yell and scream like
it was a Manchester united soccer game. It was an unbelievable
experience to be part of this history making event.
My crew is very proud to be part of this event and we
look forward to more just like it form the boys at ASA Events.
They put on one heck of an event, and they truly need to
pat themselves on the back for giving all of us the opportunity
for being a part of one of one of the best action sport
events ever in history.
